Beginning January 1, 2007 NEW PRESIDENTIAL $1 DOLLAR Gold Colored Coins will be minted and produced by the US Mint! These new coins will depict a living president beginning with George Washington and continuing, in order, with every living former President of the United States. There will be 4 different Dollar Coins issued per year (1 coin every 3 months).
